Be More Than A Guest, Use UWS

Did you know IST provides internet services to over 40,000 users daily on campus? IST wants to ensure that you have the most optimal wifi experience while on campus, and that means signing in with UWS. So, why should you connect to UWS over Guest@UofA?

Guest@UofA allows anyone passing through the university to connect to our free wireless network. They can check their emails, participate in conferences and simply browse the web. But this connection is restricted and has a limited bandwidth per user which results in a slower web experience. Additionally, Guest@UofA will request you agree to wireless terms prior to browsing.

UWS, on the other hand, is available to anyone with a valid UAlberta CCID, which includes students, faculty members and staff. UWS offers users a full-featured web experience with faster bandwidth. Connecting to UWS once ensures you’re automatically connected wherever you are on campus—including LRT platforms. To enjoy a faster and more optimal wireless experience, be more than a guest, use UWS!
