The Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) which manages the Electronic Document and Records Management System(EDRMS)will be unavailable to allow for a maintenance fix.   The service outage is expected to last for 30 mins.

Outage resolution

Start: 2017/11/16 08:00 - Clients began reporting classroom podium computers in Enterprise Square (ESQ) were not loading Operating Systems (OS) and as a result they were unavailable for use. IST support teams began investigating.
End: 2017/11/16 08:20 - Classroom podium computers are now loading properly after services were restarted on the servers that host the OS images. Service has been restored. If you are still experiencing difficulty with this IT service, please contact IST at 780-492-9400.

Service Outage: Google Docs - 2017/11/15 - 14:00

Outage resolution

Start: 2017/11/15 14:15 - Several clients reported issues accessing Google Docs. IST support teams escalated to Google for further investigation.
2017/11/15 14:30 - Google confirmed the problem was affecting a significant subset of users. The affected users were unable to access Google Docs.
End: 2017/11/15 15:10 - Google has restored service. If you are still experiencing difficulty with this IT service, please contact IST at 780-492-9400.

Service Degradation: Sitecore Websites - 2017/11/14 - 10:05

Degradation resolution

Start: 2017/11/14 10:05 - Some clients began reporting intermittent errors when accessing or editing websites hosted by Sitecore. University Digital Strategy (UDS) support teams began investigating.
2017/11/14 12:00 - In an effort to restore service systems hosting the websites were restarted and service was restored. Monitoring began to see if any issues reoccured.

Multiple servers will undergo routine maintenance and receive security updates performed by Information Services and Technology (IST). During the change, users will be unable to reach the services listed below. The service outage is expected to last 3 hours.  

  • My CCID Portal which allows users to change their passwords
  • The CCID ToolBox that provides administrative services for the CCID interface
  • OnTheHub UA Software Distribution Service that provides software downloads
  • The Information Services and Technology (IST) Website
  • The Learning Shop which lists learning opportunities for all Academic and Support Staff across the University of Alberta
  • The Central Login Service, also known as GPU (General Purpose Unix)
  • UAOpenCart, a financial application which offers services to Clients for External Business Transactions.

Service Change: Airwatch University wide Mobile Device Users - 2017/10/25 - 03:29

Change change

Emergency maintenance will be performed on the AirWatch CN628 environment, the Mobile Device Management application . The service will be unavailable for approximately 120 minutes at any time during the four hour change window.

During this time frame, AirWatch users can expect the following:

  • New device users will not be able to enroll
  • Existing device users will not be able to access the VMware AirWatch® App Catalog or Self Service portal
  • Existing content in VMware AirWatch® Content Locker™ will continue to be accessible, however, new content will not be available
