Authentication services that facilitate undergraduate computer labs logins will be reconfigured to use updated servers. The affected users, Computing Science Undergraduate students, may be unable to login or if logged in may not be able to get file listings. The service outage is expected to last for one minute.

2017/03/09 17:00 - IST was working in investigating and resolving the issue.

Start: 2017/02/28 13:15 - Users began reporting a delay when trying to authenticate with apps that use the uAlberta Login service. IST began investigating.
2017/02/28 14:00 - IST determined the cause of the issue and began implementing a fix to restore service.

Start: 2017/02/27 12:05 - Monitoring devices detected some network devices providing University Wireless Service (UWS) in the HUB Mall had become unavailable. Affected users experienced slowness or no access to UWS. IST began investigating.
2017/02/27 12:45 - IST determined a localized power outage was the cause of the issue. Facilities and Operations began investigating.

Service Outage: IT Services Across Campus Some Users - 2017/02/23 - 10:00

Outage resolution

2017/02/23 10:00 - IST received reports of a power outage affecting North Campus. Monitoring systems detected a number of network devices became unavailable which resulted in a loss of some IT services around campus.
2017/02/23 11:30 - IST received confirmation power has been restored. IT services are currently being restored.
2017/02/23 13:00 - IST determined a few network devices were damaged as a result of the power failure and needed to be replaced in order to restore services.

Service Change: AirWatch Mobile Device Management Upgrade (AirWatch Users) - 2017/02/17 - 14:03

Change change

The AirWatch CN628 environment, the Mobile Device Management application, will be upgraded to the latest 9.0 FP 3 feature pack.

During this time frame, AirWatch users can expect the following:

  • Admin users will not be able to log into the Web Console
  • New device users will not be able to enroll
  • Existing device users will not be able to access the VMware AirWatch® App Catalog or Self Service portal
  • Existing content in VMware AirWatch® Content Locker™ will continue to be accessible, however, new content will not be available
