2018/12/11 8:45 - Power was confirmed restored. IST analysts began working on restoring remaining IT services.

One of the Andrew File System (AFS) SMB servers, providing Samba access to AFS, will be taken out of service to activate an emergency configuration change.  Some Samba users may need to reconnect to AFS.  The service outage is instantaneous.  Affected users will be able to immediately reconnect.

The Operating System (OS) for uaonecardap-prod.srv.ualberta.ca that hosts the front-end for OneCard will be upgraded from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS to 18.04 LTS.  www.onecard.ualberta.ca and conference.ualberta.ca will not be available for 2.5 hours.  
 
Conference booking will not be available 
 
Users can still use their OneCard for purchasing.

Degradation resolution

Start: 2018/10/05 10:35 – IST began investigating reports of a PBX (private branch exchange) telephone service degradation affecting some users around North Campus. Affected users were not able to receive or make calls. 
2018/10/05 11:30 - IST began working with our third party vendor to investigate and resolve the issue.
2018/10/05 15:30 - Third party vendor investigation continued in order to find the source of the degradation.
