The EDRMS system will undergo a maintenance fix to address a functionality issue with LDAP sync and specific PDF Thumbnail preview issues. EDRMS is an enterprise content management system that is used by multiple departments around the University. The affected users will not be unable to access the system during the maintenance period. The service outage is expected to last for 2 hours.

The Universal Student Ratings of Instruction application known as USRI that hosts the University Online Assessment site will be migrated to a new server. The affected users will be unable to submit surveys at https://usri.srv.ualberta.ca. The service outage is expected to last 30 minutes at any time during the change window.

Start: 2019/03/14 11:00 - Some clients began reporting login issues in IST managed Labs and Classrooms that use Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). IST support teams began investigating.
2019/03/14 11:25 - Investigation determined the login servers were not responding to new login requests. The error was cleared to restore service.

Service Outage: Classroom Podium Computers Business Building - 2019/03/11 - 08:00

Outage resolution

Start: 2019/03/11 08:00 - Clients began reporting Classroom Podium computers located in the Business Building were not working due to a suspected network issue. IST support teams began investigating.
2019/03/11 08:15 - Investigation determined a network switch had failed, work began on configuring a replacement switch.

Change change

The servers that are part of the shared SQL 2014 cluster that host databases for various campus applications will receive additional Oracle OLEDB drivers to support connections to Oracle database servers. This installation will require rebooting the servers.  Applications listed below will not be available. The service outage is expected to last for up to 5 minutes at any time during the change window.

2019/03/07 17:30 - The root cause was identified as a faulty breaker. Facilities and Operations Electricians began repairs.

Start: 2019/02/21 09:30 - IST analysts began investigating reports of classroom podium computers not starting properly, locations affected were the Edmonton Clinic Health Academy (ECHA) as well as the Tory and Humanities buildings. The issue only affected podium computers that had been restarted today.
