Outage resolution

Start: 2019/01/04 09:00 - IST began receiving reports some PBX (Private Branch Exchange) Nortel telephones located around North Campus were experiencing issues. The affected clients were not be able to make or receive calls. IST engaged vendor for investigation and resolution.
End: 2019/01/04 10:45 - The vendor determined a network card was down and they re-enabled it to restore service. No further issues have been reported and the vendor is monitoring. If you are still experiencing difficulty with this IT service, please contact IST at 780-492-9400.

Service Degradation: Network Services HUB - 2018/12/28 - 12:25

Degradation resolution

Start: 2018/12/28 12:10 - IST Monitoring systems detected power issues in HUB that were affecting network services (Local Area Network, University Wireless Service). Facilities and Operations began investigating.
2018/12/28 12:30 - The root cause was identified as a faulty breaker. Facilities and Operations Electricians began repairs.

Modifier change

The wireless service in the Students Union Building will be temporarily unavailable due to issues identified on the Fiber Optics connection to the network.  Users of these wireless services in the Students Union Building (SUB) will be unable to connect to UWS.  The service outage is expected to last between 1 - 1.5 hours as the cabling is tested and repaired.

The Operating System (OS) for uaonecardap-prod.srv.ualberta.ca that hosts the front-end for OneCard will be upgraded from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS to 18.04 LTS.  www.onecard.ualberta.ca and conference.ualberta.ca will not be available for 2.5 hours.  
 
Conference booking will not be available 
 
Users can still use their OneCard for purchasing.
