Information Services and Technology (IST) is updating Find a Person to serve you better. Later this fall you’ll experience a new refreshed page with a few visual updates. While the page will look different visually, there will be no changes to the lookup functionality and you’ll be able to use the directory with the same familiarity.
For additional information, please refer to the FAQ below or contact email@example.com.
Will there be any new features to the page?
There will be a visual update to the Find a Person page. Otherwise, you’ll experience the same convenient lookup functionality as before.
Will the URL for the Find a Person page change?
Yes. The new URL will be https://directory.ualberta.ca. We recommend updating bookmarks and document links to the new URL at your earliest convenience; however, the old URL (http://webapps.srv.ualberta.ca/search/) will continue to work and will automatically direct you to this new url.
Will any of the displayed information change?
Yes. Find a Person will access information from a more central source. Department titles may appear differently.
Will there be technical changes to the back end services?
Yes. If you are a developer in the university community that uses the LDAP system for person lookups, you will notice a change in the data provided through some records that were previously supplied by TAMIS. Specifically, the ‘ou’ field in TAMIS records will reflect the information provided by the new data source. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
