Welcome Shahram!

Shahram Fardadvand had his eyes set on an opportunity at the University of Alberta and he made it happen when he joined AICT as a Computer Operator. After hours, Shahram assists with TSQS scanning and questionnaires, Large Format Printing, and IT Pulses. His primary responsibilities include monitoring the servers and applications in our data centres, controlling physical access to data centres and labs, and coordinating the escalation and response to incidents to ensure that everything is up and running smoothly for all of campus.

Moving to Edmonton from Iran 3 and a half years ago, Shahram already held 2 computer degrees from back home and now has a Bachelor of Information Systems Technology from NAIT. Prior to working at AICT, he was a Campus Technician at Grant MacEwan University, holding down various IT roles under several supervisors. Giving back to the community is also very important to him and when he is not working, he is volunteering for the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and local Cultural Heritage Communities.

Shahram has been in the IT industry for 15 years and knows that it never stays constant, so keeping his knowledge up to date is a priority for him. We are sure he'll be on top of his game in our computer centre!
