What happened?A network switch that provides access to the internet and network resources for Pharmacology experienced an issue.
Who was affected?Pharmacology users with wired network access on the 9th floor of the Medical Sciences Building were affected by this outage.
What was the impact?The affected users were unable to access the internet or network resources (such as file sharing services and network printers) through a wired internet connection. University Wireless Service (UWS) was not affected.
What was the timeline of the incident?Start: 2014/03/26 12:45 – Monitoring systems discovered an issue with a Pharmacology network switch.2014/03/26 12:50 – IT support analysts began working on the issue.2014/03/26 13:30 – IT support analysts arrived on site and began to investigate.End: 2014/03/26 13:45 – Service was restored.
