What happened?A network switch that provides Internet and access to shared network services on the 2nd Floor of Campus Tower experienced a loss of power.
Who was affected?Some users in the Research Services Office (RSO) on the 2nd Floor of Campus Tower were affected by this outage.
What was the impact?The affected users were not able to access wired Internet, network printers or shared network drives. Affected users were also unable to login to their workstations.
What was timeline of the incident?Start: 2013/07/11 14:45 – Users discovered a problem with the network.2013/07/11 15:00 – Deskside Support and Network analysts began working on the issue and discovered a power failure on a network switch.End: 2013/07/11 15:15 – Power to the network switch was re-enabled and service was restored.
