What happened?
A router that provides network and internet access to a number of locations around campus experienced an issue.

Who was affected?
Users at the following locations were affected by this outage:

  • Medical Sciences Building
  • Campus Tower
  • Edmonton Clinic Health Academy (ECHA)
  • Herbert T. Coutts (Education & Physical Education) Library
  • Katz Building
  • Telus Centre
  • Education North and South
  • Li Ka Shing Building
  • Research Transition Facility (RTF) Building

What was the impact?
The affected users were not able to access network resoruces or the internet using University Wireless Service (UWS) or wired network connections.

What was timeline of the incident?
Start: 2013/02/26 10:30 – Users began to report a problem with networking.
2013/02/26 10:35 – IT support analysts began working on the issue.
End: 2013/02/26 11:05 – Service was restored.
