What happened?
A server that assigns connections to University Wireless Service (UWS) experienced an issue.

Who was affected?
Users at the following locations may have been affected by this outage:

HUB Mall
General Services Building (GSB)
Natural Resources Engineering Facility (NREF)

What was the impact?
Affected users were not be able to connect to UWS.

What was the timeline of the incident?
Start: 2013/01/22 13:45 – Users called and reported a problem with connecting to UWS.
2013/01/22 14:00 – IT support analysts began working on the issue.
2013/01/23 12:00 - A change was implemented to reduce the impact of the outage while a permanent solution is being prepared.
2013/01/23 22:00 - A change was implemented that added more connections to the affected areas.
End: 2013/01/24 14:00 – Service was confirmed to be restored.
